Leonia Economic Development Committee news

Recently, members of the Leonia Economic Development Committee (EDC) met with the Directors of the Fort Lee Regional Chamber of Commerce to discuss plans for organizing the Leonia downtown business district. In addition to serving the local community, the Fort Lee Chamber functions as a regional organization to assist surrounding towns develop the structure to maintain a local Chamber of Commerce.

A Chamber of Commerce is the leading proponent of the business community on a broad range of issues that affect economic growth and prosperity. For this reason, the Leonia EDC has determined that before any plan can be considered for the improvement of our downtown business district it is critical to have a local business organization in place to participate in the process. Every town in New Jersey that has completed a successful development project has done so with the involvement of its business community.
